METODO BALYAYOGA®
THE BALYAYOGA® METHOD TEACHING takes place through many tools:
- the game: the playful component is the method basis, as it is the privileged language to reach the child’s heart; breathing is important for children and the Balyayoga method is taught through games and simple exercises so that even the kids can learn the correct breathing. No pranayamas are taught to children.
- Poses (asanas): by associating yoga poses with the names of plants, animals and elements found in nature, children are inspired by what surround them to better know their own body. Stories for growth nourish rational and emotional intelligence, becoming an effective tool of world’s knowledge The yoga poses taught in Balyayoga Method are specifically designed for children and they are not a simplification of those practiced by adults, but the poses can be practiced by children without any risk of physical damage and they are not associated with a breathing technique.
- songs and nursery-rhymes: thanks to their easy need to assimilate moral principles and values in a nice and cheerful way;
- creative and fantasy activities: imagination and creativity are at the heart of the child’s psychic development. The Balyayoga© method involves children’s creativity stimulation through artistic activities, a powerful tool for voicing feelings and emotions, through beauty and creativity, to kid’s inner world. They draw or colour mandalas or do other manual works, the teacher reads or recites stories and nursery-rhymes, intriguing them with Tibetan singing bowls and other “fantastic” educational objects, with dance and mudras, each time different ones. In this way, not only is the child’s aesthetic intelligence is stimulated but, above all, it is evaluated and expressed through those emotions and moods which emerge from the internalization process. Furthermore, the storytelling translate the same emotions into thoughts, providing children with appropriate knowledge tools.
- silence: it is the fundamental key to learning to focus attention on oneself and therefore to achieve his/her own INTEGRITY. Meditation is taught according to the age group. If the children are younger, the meditation lasts few moments, the older ones manage to stay still and silent even for several minutes.
